St Mary’s Church Crypt, Lastingham, North Yorkshire

Lastingham has been a centre of Worship and devotion since the 7th Century.

The magnificent Norman Crypt beneath St Mary’s Church is recognised as possibly the most remarkable Crypt in Britain.  It is certainly the most complete and the only one that has it’s own Nave, Apse and two side aisles.

Lighting Dynamics undertook an extremely challenging lighting design to incorporate a complete lighting upgrade within the Crypt, a sometimes damp environment along with low ceilings and overall extremely limited space.

Another amazing lighting project completed and installed by Lighting Dynamics, which now enhances the architectural features of this magnificent and unique Listed and ancient structure.

The new lighting also provides varying levels of illumination for the various liturgical services and the numerous daily visitors to this historic site.

All of the new lighting is linked to remote radio controlled dimming and scene setting facilities.
